| Jen's artwork is both playful and ironic, highlighting issues surrounding survival in today's global society through the use of multimedia installations. In the outdoor installation "City Leaves", Jen comments on green space, sacred space, and the beauty of impermanence. An intimate perspective on often stigmatized feminine challenges is revealed through the photography series "Etzchaim (Tree of Life)". In "Intersect", a performance collaboration with Philadelphia's ContempraDance Theatre, her video art explores the monotony of the fast paced everyday in western society. Jen has exhibited all along the east coast, including the highly acclaimed Eyedrum Gallery in Atlanta. Her work has been reviewed in various publications such as the Philadelphia Inquirer, The Atlanta Journal Constitution, Creative Loafing, Trigger Magazine, and The Main Line Times. It has been described as "consistently surprising and paradigm-shifting", "thoughtful, complicated, exploratory" and "lyrical." Documentary photography has been a constant in Jen's life since she was a teenager, capturing a fascination that makes her pause in any moment. She uses photography as a tool to immortalize a feeling brought upon by a specific person or place. Most recently, her interest in the energy created by live music events has led Jen to photograph many musicians around the world. |
